To the Question of the Origin of State: Paradoxes and Anomalies of Modern Interpretations

In the article the main trends of the modern interpretation of theories of the origin of state arisen in social sciences on the boundary of XX-XXI centuries are investigated. The author pays a great attention to the process of overcoming of various historical myths and false interpretations in the beginning of XXI century accompanying long since the scientific theories of evolution of state in different epochs. Special attention is paid also to the new classifications of states winning recognition in the modern social science, first of all, the conception represented in the book of Douglass C. North, John J. Wallis and Barry R. Weingast “Violence and Social Orders”. Critical notes are directed against both the postmodernist classification of statesmanship in the work of Martin van Creveld “The Rise and Decline of the State” and some domestic ‘revisionist tendencies’ in history and political science.
