Prospects of Political Modernization of Russia

Democratic process in Russia is analyzed in the article in the aspects of history and of political science. The author examines the immanent problems and contradictions of the democratic development, which precondition serious theoretical flaws in the dominant model of the “spreading of democracy”. As for current problems of the Russian development, the author singles out, as a cardinal one, the problem of securing institutional stability of the Russian democratic model, regarding - as the key consolidating factor – mechanisms of the “majority party” (of the dominating party).
