Myths about Russian Political Culture and Russian History. Part I.

The presented work offers critical examination of most widely spread – among foreign authors and their Russian followers – interpretations of Russian political culture. The major part of them, being far from new and contributing no original ideas into the study of Russia, are based on poor knowledge of the newest achievements of historical science and on extremely subjective, often politicized approach, with the creation, as a result, of a highly distorted picture, repeating a number of long-existing myths about Russia and Russian history. In conclusion, the authors present some considerations on applicable methodology of studying the evolution of Russia’s political culture.
