The “Choir” of the Moscow “Gateway” and Scenarios of Its Development

The motif of the article is research of socio-economic and political evolution of the territories forming the “choir” of Moscow as of a variety of a “gateway into the global world”. Proceeding from the logical scenario-like model of the evolution of the nearer periphery of a “global gateway” – model elaborated through generalization of world experience, – the authors analyze the trajectories of the development of a number of regions of Russian Nechernozemye (Non-Black-Earth Zone) of first and second degrees of distance from Moscow. Special attention is given in the article to the analysis of the net dynamics of the Moscow “choir”. On stating radical predominance, within the Moscow “choir”, of centripetal tendencies (of both “gateway” and “quasi-gateway” character), the authors make the conclusion about the possibility of further growth of Moscow as of a variety of “global gateway”. Realization of this possibility, in their opinion, will depend on the political course within the country and on the general situation in the world. For the purpose of revealing potential trajectories of further development of the Moscow “gateway” and its “choir”, the authors resort to scenario-like prognostication of the evolution of Russian Nechernozemye in a medium-term perspective.
