Oswald Spengler’s Conservative Ideology

In the article O.Spengler’s ideological-political attitude, outlook, opinions are reviewed, which enable this German philosopher to be reckoned with the conservative camp. After discussing the substantiation that Spengler proposed for the conservative position, as well as his interpretation of politics and of the state, the author comes to the judgment about inconsequence of Spenglerian conservatism. According to V.V.Afanasyev’s conclusion, Spengler, while standing up for politics to be liberated from economics and fighting all manifestations of liberalism, remained adherent of “pure politics”, i.e. was only “negative”, but not “positive” conservative.
