City — Region — Russia: Dynamics of Electoral Behaviour at Parliamentary Elections
The article presents comparative analysis of electoral behaviour stability at three levels: in the electoral constituencies within one of Russia’s megalopolises (St. Petersburg); in the constituencies of a RF subject lacking within it any large urban formation (Leningradskaya Oblast); and in Russia’s regions altogether. It is materials of three Duma Electoral campaigns, i.e. of 1995, 1999 and 2003, that are used for the study of the dynamics of the Russian electorate’s party preferences. Applying methods elaborated conformably to Russian conditions on the basis of the principles of the ecological school of electoral analysis, the authors clear up general parameters of electoral behaviour at the distinguished levels and retrace the main dynamic tendencies in models of electoral behaviour.
