The Third Reich (Introductory article and comments by S.G.Allenov)

In this issue, the journal is presenting Russian translation of the concluding chapter of “The Third Reich” — the book viewed as political testament of one of the initiators of the German “conservative revolution”, Moeller van den Bruck. Originally issued in 1923, the book acquired at the time noticeable popularity in conservative circles in Germany, and all currents of the “new” German conservatism which was gaining strength, turned its title into their slogan. The author of the book is, therefore, often numbered among Hitler’s forerunners. However, arguments as to in what measure Moeller’s prophecy about the “Third Reich” was actually rousing the Nazis to the building of their empire, never cease up to now. The text published here, in which essential elements of Moeller’s position acquire vivid, image-bearing expression, allows to deeper penetrate into the purport of these arguments directly related to the question of potentialities and limits of the conservative idea’s filiation. Edition used for translation into Russian: Moeller van den Bruck A. Das Dritte Reich. Hamburg, 1931 (3. Aufl.). S. 300-322.
