The Civilizational Dimension of Geoeconomics

The three authors, from the Dnepropetrovsk State University (Ukraine), proceed from the thesis that an era of geoeconomics’ domination is coming; and, meanwhile, processes of civilizational and geoeconomic mechanisms’ interlocking and fusing are underway in the international sphere. The article discusses theoretical-methodological problems of geoeconomic research. In the authors’ opinion, today’s world presents a geoeconomically unbalanced system of which attempts of one of civilizations (the “model”, or “standard” one) are characteristic, to undermine the relative geoeconomic balance which either is about to disappear, or has just disappeared but which, at any rate, existed before. Hence the especial importance of scientific research of problems related to geoeconomic aspects of individual security.
