On a Reform in Teaching Political Sciences within the Higher-Educational System of Russian Federation

This publication consisting of 5 parts written in different “genres” has been prepared by a group of teachers at the Political Sciences Department, Moscow Social and Economic Sciences School. It contains estimations of the state the teaching of political sciences at universities is in; innovatory approaches to its reformation are proposed, with variants of syllabi embracing the below mentioned subject matters. Prof. L.V.Polyakov: crisis of political sciences, critique of text-books, a syllabus in theory and practice of Russian politics; Prof. B.G.Kapustin: critical evaluation of the existing approaches to the study of political science as a whole, and a syllabus in political philosophy; Prof. A.A.Degtyaryov: a syllabus in policy sciences; T.Ye.Vorozheykina: a syllabus in comparative politics. The publication, among other things and all things considered, gives an idea of the keen discussion going on among Russia’s political scientists on problems of teaching.
