Estimations of Russian Political Leaders’ Personal Qualities: Problems of Measurement and Interpretation

One of the publications in the previous issue acquainted the readers with some results of a study accomplished by researchers working at the Public Opinion Foundation; the study had dealt with Russian citizens’ perception of well-known political leaders. (See summary in English: Klimenko S.G., Yakusheva T.V. Politicians’ Images in Russians’ Accounts. — Polis, 2000, ¹6, ñ. 87.) The theme is one of the most debated in modern Russian political psychology. It was also discussed at a round table organized by the Russian association of political psychologists and held on November 22, 2000, at the Political psychology chair, Department of political science, Philosophical faculty, Moscow State University. The round table gathered political scientists, sociologists and psychologists engaged in the study of political consciousness in modern Russia. Materials of the discussion are published in this issue
