Dimensions of Russia’s Federalism
The article presents federalism as a general system of politico-legal, economic, financial, and even cultural territorial relations. Such an approach is supposed to be attended by analysis of the image and functions of the federal power and of the regional power as image-geographical phenomena. The image-geographical interpretation implies the existence of anamorphized dimensions. The result is the formation of a notion of especial metaregions whose contours do not coincide with the borders of the Federation subjects. These metaregions are capable of imparting additional integrative force to federative principles in Russia.
